What Is The SunSmart Shade Creation Initiative?
The SunSmart Shade Creation Initiative is a new grant developed by Cancer Council Queensland and the Queensland Department of Health. It is designed to help not-for-profit organisations attain high-quality shade solutions to keep children protected from the sun when outdoors. The grant provides funding for 75 percent of the total cost of the project, up to a maximum of $20,000. It is a fantastic opportunity for eligible organisations to secure funding for their necessary projects.
Who Is Eligible For The Grant?
The grant is eligible for not-for-profit organisations in Queensland that cater to children ranging from 0 to 18 years of age. Here is the list provided by Cancer Council Queensland:
- Not for profit Queensland organisations and facilities that provide services for children aged 0-18 years
- Early Childhood Centres
- Primary and Secondary Schools (inc. private and independent)
- Junior Sporting organisations
- OSHC
- Youth Community Groups
- Have not received funding from us in the last two years
- Highly encourage anyone from the North West HHS, Central Queensland HHS, Darling
- Downs HHS, Sunshine Coast HHS, Townsville HHS, South West HHS and Central West HHS
